Who Are Our Caregivers?

At Caring First, LLC, our caregivers are the heart of our mission to provide exceptional non-medical home care. They are compassionate, skilled, and dedicated professionals who are passionate about helping individuals with disabilities, injuries, mobility challenges, or illnesses live independently and comfortably in their own homes.

Our caregivers come from diverse backgrounds but share a common purpose: to enhance the quality of life for our clients through personalized, attentive care. Whether providing companionship, assistance with daily activities, or specialized support for conditions like Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s, our team is committed to delivering care with dignity and respect.

Our Rigorous Selection Process

We believe great care starts with great caregivers. That’s why we have a thorough screening and hiring process to ensure only the most qualified and compassionate individuals join our team.

Our caregivers:

  • Undergo comprehensive state and national criminal background checks, including Social Security Number validation, alias checks, and Sex Offender Registry checks.
  • Have their driving records and employment references verified.
  • Participate in multiple interviews to assess their compassion, patience, and commitment to senior care.
  • Are fully bonded and insured as employees of Caring First, LLC, ensuring peace of mind for our clients.

Training and Ongoing Support

Caring for older adults at home is a dynamic and evolving responsibility. To ensure our caregivers are fully prepared, we provide all state-required training in Pennsylvania, along with ongoing opportunities for advanced education. Our team also benefits from training and certification through a nationally recognized organization, empowering them to deliver consistent, high-quality care with confidence.

Our caregivers receive extensive training to provide the highest level of care. This includes:

  • An in-depth orientation program to prepare them for delivering professional care.
  • Specialized training in caregiving skills, infection control, and supporting clients with conditions like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, or post-stroke recovery.
  • Ongoing education to stay updated on best practices and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Regular performance reviews and random drug screenings to maintain accountability and quality.

Awards, Recognition, Respect, and Opportunity

At Caring First, LLC, our caregivers are at the core of everything we do, and we are committed to recognizing their invaluable contributions. We honor our outstanding caregivers through:

  • Awards and Recognition: We celebrate exceptional caregivers with awards such as "Caregiver of the Month" and annual recognition events to highlight their dedication and impact.
  • Respect: We foster a culture of respect, ensuring our caregivers feel valued through open communication, supportive management, and a collaborative work environment.
  • Opportunities for Growth: We provide ongoing paid training, career advancement opportunities, and mentorship programs to help caregivers develop their skills and grow professionally.
  • Rewards: Our caregivers receive competitive wages, performance-based bonuses, and other incentives to reward their hard work and commitment.

By investing in our caregivers’ success, we ensure they bring their best to every client, creating meaningful connections and exceptional care experiences.

Personalized Caregiver Matching

At Caring First, LLC, we understand that every client is unique. Our personalized matching process ensures that we pair each client with a caregiver whose skills, personality, and approach align with their specific needs and preferences. We:

  • Conduct a free in-home assessment to understand your loved one’s needs, schedule, and personality.
  • Select caregivers based on this assessment and arrange introductory meetings to ensure a good fit.
  • Allow you to choose the caregiver who best matches your loved one’s needs, ensuring a strong, trusting relationship.

Our Commitment to Your Peace of Mind

We take every step to ensure your loved one receives reliable, high-quality care. Our caregivers are W-2 employees, not independent contractors, meaning we handle all scheduling, payroll, and insurance, so you don’t have to worry about administrative burdens or legal risks.

To ensure accountability, we use a phone check-in and check-out system. Caregivers are required to clock in and out using the client’s home phone, and our team is alerted if a caregiver does not check in within minutes of their scheduled arrival time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our caregivers provide a wide range of non-medical support, including personal care (bathing, grooming, toileting), light housekeeping, grocery shopping, transportation, meal preparation, exercise assistance, medication reminders, and companionship. We also have caregivers trained to support clients with Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, or those transitioning home after a hospital stay.

We strive to create the perfect match by considering your loved one’s needs, personality, and preferences. If the initial match isn’t ideal, we’ll work closely with you to find a caregiver who better suits your loved one, arranging additional introductory meetings as needed to ensure a strong, trusting relationship.

In addition to our rigorous screening and training, our phone check-in and check-out system ensures caregivers arrive on time. If a caregiver is delayed, our team is notified immediately to ensure consistent, reliable care.

Our caregivers provide non-medical care, such as medication reminders and support with daily activities. For medical needs, we can coordinate with healthcare professionals to ensure your loved one receives comprehensive care.

We offer flexible scheduling to meet your needs, from as little as one hour of care to 24/7 support, available 365 days a year. We work with you to create a care plan that fits your loved one’s lifestyle and preferences.

Our caregivers are compassionate, patient, reliable, and excellent communicators. They combine these qualities with hands-on skills and specialized training to provide professional, empathetic care tailored to each client’s needs.

Our caregivers are thoroughly vetted, but if a performance concern arises, our Client Care and Staffing Managers will promptly investigate. They’ll gather feedback, assess the situation, and either provide additional training or reassign a new caregiver to ensure your satisfaction.

While we cannot accommodate requests for physical attributes like appearance, we can ensure caregivers have specific skills or physical capabilities, such as the strength to assist with transfers from a wheelchair to a bed, to meet your loved one’s needs.

Yes, we prioritize clear communication. If your loved one speaks a specific language, we’ll do our best to match them with a caregiver who is fluent in that language to foster trust and comfort.
